Everyone Who Is Hating on the BCS...

Just shut up!! For real! I am willing to admit that the system is flawed right now. It's nearly impossible to decipher between the myriad of top teams in the nation as to which team actually deserves the shot at the title. You can make a case for (nearly) every team in the (Oh, let's say) top 12. Will the decision in the end be favored by all? Heck no! Will it be right? By the BCS standards, yes. You have to admit, as flawed as the system seems to be, it gets the games right (a majority of the time.) If Mizzou loses, it should be West Virginia and Ohio State. If West Virginia loses, it should be Mizzou and OSU. I both those teams fall... Maybe Buckeyes and Hokies? Buckeyes and Bulldogs? Buckeyes and (Dare I say) Warriors? So many possibilities to throw into the title game, but would any of those choices be wrong? No! But (strangely) at the same time, yes! The BCS cannot rightfully says Hawaii is a stilted 11-0 and is worse than Georgia and Virginia Tech, but if the BCS decides to leave Hawaii out of the title hunt it was the right decision. This BCS talk is a double edged sword. It hurts all of us die hard fans, but yet it always seems to provide the best quality match ups. So, what's the best solution? How can all of the controversy be solved? Playoff? Possibly. However, after being a BCS hater for the majority of my intelligent life in the college football world... I've taken a step back and analyzed the system. Maybe it's not as bad I once thought. Would I rather see a tournament or playoff decide who is the winner? It's option, but consider this... In college football, are we rewarding long term seasonal accomplishments or rewarding late season pushes? In a playoff system, Georgia and healthy USC would probably end up in the title game. These two teams have made tremendous pushes late in the season but were surprisingly near atrocious early to middle of the season. In that respect a playoff does not seem like the most logical resolve. Right now, America, deal with it! The BCS is all we have. And, whether you like it or not, the BCS is stirring up a lot of controversy... and it's EXCITING!!
